We started playing soccer in the streets when we were about 3 to 4 years old. The stadium was far, and anyway, we wouldn't get a chance to play on the field as the older boys would bundle us off as soon as we set foot on the field.
It was 1Pal that we played on the streets. Other means of playing the beautiful game had to be made, one way or the other. You see, like many people on this planet, we are soccer fanatics. This, from an early age, was our passion. We made whatever means we could to play the game. No one was going to stop us from playing.
1Pal was what we called it and it still uses the same name today. We know why the game came into being (lack of resources), how and when is a debatable matter and is a topic for another forum. 1Pal provided a way for us, as kids, to show off the skills we had (or lack thereof). Everyone was allowed to play, regardless of age or gender.
This game of soccer involved 2 or more players per team that would play against other, usually a betting match. Sweets and ice cream were very important to us and we gave our all to win. Young and old would watch as some of the more skilled players would display their silky moves and pin point accuracy when scoring goals or passing.
The goal posts were a brick that had to be hit with the ball, by the opposing team, to register a goal. There was no goalkeeper and players defending had to be a certain distance away from the brick (goal post).

This site is dedicated to the memory of 1Pal and its development. The league is a community based affair, with the aim of having a world champion 1Pal team. We will use 1Pal to develop communities and encourage a simple and inexpensive way to keep fit.
Minimal equipment is required for a game and all games will be captured in pictures and videos. We are looking forward to a great league and encourage you to join now for more information on this exciting league.
